Is “For” Capitalized in a Title?
Usually, no: write “for” in lowercase inside a title. Capitalize it at the start. At the end, AP, Chicago, and MLA use “For”; APA normally keeps the minor word lowercase.

Inside a title: keep “for” lowercase
In A Guide for Writers, “for” connects the guide to its audience. All four styles lowercase this short preposition in that position. Its importance to the meaning does not make it a capitalized word.
At the beginning: use “For”
The opening word takes a capital: For the Love of Music. A colon can introduce a subtitle with its own first word, as in Notes: For the Next Chapter. Do not assume every punctuation mark starts a new subtitle.
At the end: the style matters

This is why “always capitalize the first and last word” is not a universal title-case rule. In this example, APA still treats the final “for” as a minor word; the other three styles apply their final-word capital.
What if “for” is part of a name?
